The Lovers by Galina Mazin-Datloof

General Description:

A tribute to artist Marc Chagall's work by Galina Datloof (Biogrphy below). It is a large painting offered for an unusually low price.

As with all of Datloof's works, this piece featured delicate subtle layers, saturated colors, yet maintaining the descriptive formality of the subject.

The Artist:

Galina Datloof was born in a small Russian village, and became an artist against her family's will.

However, hers and her family's love of music served as a thread through her works- attempts to create visual (figurative) music.

In addition, she worked in designing costumes and scenery for theatre. In 1990 she immigrated to Israel and her career continues to blossom there.

A comprehensive biography of the artist can be found here (link will open a new window).
